Broccoli For Miles And Miles And Miles And Miles And Miles … Oh Yeah!

The Original

Liza Minnelli:

Liza struts like Jagger in this clip! (But is that something you really want to see?)

The Most Popular

Frank Sinatra:

Say what you will about Ole Blue Eyes but not many have, or ever had, a voice like his (nor could anyone quite sport a Trilby like the man).

Nico vs. Reel Big Fish

space

Nico:

Nothing quite says “New York” like Nico!

(This is the short version of Nico’s “New York, New York”. For those inclined there is a seven-minute version but I’d suggest you brew a cup of Joe before indulging.)

Reel Big Fish:

One of their best covers, which says something considering the band has covered at least 30 tunes!

Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. Only one cover tune will live to play another day and it is your solemn responsibility to decide which one prevails. So tell me … Which Side Are You On?!!?

Also, keep in mind that if you should spontaneously self-actualize while playing a cover then you could – and probably should – nominate it for Top 10 (i.e. “Impeccable”) consideration.

I have always loved Liza…she is a tireless performer…maybe not the best singer, not the best dancer, but she puts everything into what she does!

Two very nice covers. Nico’s version is bizarre in a very pleasing way. But I’ve got to go with Reel Big Fish who pushed all the right buttons on this one.
