Broccoli For Miles And Miles And Miles And Miles And Miles … Oh Yeah!

The Original

Paul Simon:

The Cover Songs Competition

Avett Brothers vs. The Persuasion

Avett Brothers:

The Persuasions:

Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. Only one cover tune will live to play another day and it is your solemn responsibility to decide which one prevails. So tell me … Which Side Are You On?!!?

Also, keep in mind that if you should spontaneously self-actualize while playing a cover then you could – and probably should – nominate it for Top 10 (i.e. “Impeccable”) consideration.

Votes can be cast up to seven days from the day and time of the original post.

Disclaimer: Votes cast from Florida may or may not be counted.

  1. Arnold Plotnick says:

I voted for the Persuasions because their version is preferable to me.

  2. Kerry Black says:

I’ll pick The Persuasions, mostly due to their vocals.

  3. bornunderabadsign says:

i can’t bring myself to vote…they are tied in mind…

  4. LuckyHawai says:

Pretty, Pretty Good , on both fronts … but I’se a going with them down home Avett boys mostly because i’m pretty sure i used to guzzle pabst with they’re grandpa’s at Lee’s Banjo shop back in the 70’s …. also, count my vote twice cause Wifey is strong on my side here (and that may be a First)

    • RDubbs says:

You get ONE vote. If Wifey wants a say-so then she’ll have to cast her own vote, which I’d think she’d be eager to do considering I’m pretty sure that’s Joe Chu on cello.

  5. RDubbs says:

Tough, really tough. Great vocals all around. There really are no losers here (actually there are quite a few but I digress). Avett Brothers …
