Mike Geier & The Reverend Horton Heat:
Sandy Nelson:
Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. Only one cover tune will live to play another day and it is your solemn responsibility to decide which one prevails. So tell me … Which Side Are You On?!!?
Also, keep in mind that if you should spontaneously self-actualize while playing a cover then you could – and probably should – nominate it for Top 10 (i.e. “Impeccable”) consideration.

Saw The Who perform Tommy when it first came out!!!! Saw The Who quite a few times, actually!!!!!
Saw the Who at the Municipal Auditorium in Atlanta (now offices for GSU) maybe around 70-71-72??? They were like two hours late showing up, apologized for the delay, and then played Tommy in its entirety…one of the best shows I ever saw there!
I’m sure!!!!!! They were something else in concert!!!! I remember when we bought Tommy and had my dad listen to it…I think he liked it…Oh so many years ago!!!!!
Praise be! the Right Reverend Horton Heat in a landslide!
Someone else used the word “landslide” and beat me to it. After several close calls in recent days, the genius of that Geier guy was too much for the opponent. Only thing missing being those lovely and talented Dames Aflame.
Horton Hears An Aye
(Hortoncanoe and Geier Too!)
I picked the Geier guy cuz that version was weirder than shit.
