Alluring Strange:
Eek-A-Mouse:
Don’t know why Eek, Youtube and the Music Gods have chosen this particular video to give me such a hard time with … I would posit the cause being that the Music Gods are still justifiably enranged and vengeful from yesteryear’s misplaced reverence of the clown-show that was Led Zeppelin. In the name of Jah, haven’t you heard the word of EC yet? Clowntime is OVER! He and others like him were sent to us so we could appreciate and learn from intelligent, mind-expanding, poignant, witty music, and should never again be subjected to carnival sideshows like the Zep. Oh fear ye, you irreverent heathens who continue to lend your ears to the purveyors of blaring tripe. Yes, fear the barkers of clangor. Repent! Repent! Repent! Gnash your teeth, bend your knees before your “media play device” (if it adorns your head then that’s fine too) and allow it to lavish your abode with melodious absolution. But first hit the play button below and give Eek your fullest attention.

Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. Only one cover tune will live to play another day and it is your solemn responsibility to decide which one prevails. So tell me … Which Side Are You On?!!?
Also, keep in mind that if you should spontaneously self-actualize while playing a cover then you could – and probably should – nominate it for Top 10 (i.e. “Impeccable”) consideration.

Voted for Alluring Strange by default as access to the Eek a Mouse video appears to be blocked, but listening some of Eek a Mouse’s other stuff on YouTube this could probably be a runaway for the Eeksters…
Russell, the Eek-A-Mouse link on my site seems to be working for me.
I don’t like Led Zepplin. Actually I really cannot stand Led Zepplin. They were so huge when I was in high school; really put me in a state of perpetual agitation having to deal with that tripe continuously on the radio.
When it comes to Led Zepplin covers the real key is ensuring your version sounds nothing like the original crap. Alluring Strange and Eek both passed that test easily. I give them both high marks for turning garbage into rather enjoyable tunes. But the nod has to go to Eek for his unique signature sound that seems to work regardless of what he chooses to sing.
The Eek a Mouse version won’t play for me either but since I was not impressed by Alluring Strange whom’s cover was neither, I will pick Eek because he is a stud. It’s after 3 a.m. and I am fading but I will castigate Dubbya for heretical comments per Led Zeppelin, a band so detested he won’t spell their name right. Jimmy Hendrix??????
I certainly like Eek’s vocals better than Robert Plant’s. Then again, the genre definitely favors Eek a Mouse. My guess is that he wouldn’t do quite as well as Plant if he had taken a shot at Since I’ve Been Lovin’ You instead of D’yer Mak’er.
