This song always makes me feel so sad for Mick and the boys. And you would have thought they would have drawn a lot of attention from women. It just goes to show that you never really know …

The Heptones:

Junior Wells:

Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. Only one cover tune will live to play another day and it is your solemn responsibility to decide which one prevails. So tell me … Which Side Are You On?!!?

Also, keep in mind that if you should spontaneously self-actualize while playing a cover then you could – and probably should – nominate it for Top 10 (i.e. “Impeccable”) consideration.

  1. Arnie Plotnick says:

I’d heard of the song, but had never heard the original. I have to say, it’s pretty good. I’ll bet it’s popular.

Both cover versions annoyed me, though. Didn’t like either. This is one song that would be difficult to improve on. Except maybe Devo’s version.

  2. Cuspid says:

I too found both covers annoying. And I don’t like Devo’s version either. Credit the Stones with an uncoverable great song.

  3. Pete Black says:

Junior Wells works for me. I like or love some Heptones recordings but this isn’t a fit.
