ACDC, what could you say? You either loved them or hated them! I did not love them. But, gee wizz, on Cover Me Impressed such disdain matters not. If there’s a decent cover out there then there will always be a place for the covered band on CMI. Even ACDC. Hmmm, I think I’ll go take a shower now…

Pat Boone:
This is from Pat’s album No More Mr. Nice Guy. Sadly I am not kidding.
Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. Only one cover tune will live to play another day and it is your solemn responsibility to decide which one prevails. So tell me … Which Side Are You On?!!?

Don’t like the original and don’t like the covers. But I’m going with Murph because of the bagpipes.
Dropkick Murphys’ cover version rocks. I, too, like the bagpipes. I also have a fondness for the Dropkick Murphys because about two weeks ago, they discovered that Wisconsin Governor (and all around douchebag) Scott Walker was using one of the Dropkick Murphy’s songs when he made public appearances, and they told Walker’s handlers to stop using their music because “we literally hate you”. Plus, Pat Boone is an asswipe.
While the bagpipes are a welcome addition and the Murphys certainly do rock, this one is not even close. Pat Boone runs away with it. He strays farthest from the original, which earns him huge bonus points while making for a tune that is actually listenable. And I’m not about to cross Mr. Boone. No More Mr. Nice Guy and all.
