Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. It is your solemn responsibility to decide which cover song prevails. In other words … Which Side Are You On?!!?

Another great Nick Lowe song. This wasn’t on the original Pure Pop/Jesus of Cool album, but was added as a bonus track when the CD was released. It’s not only a great song, but it has a nice sentiment. If an artist does comment about a record label, it’s almost always derogatory. But Lowe was on Stiff Records, and they were as cool as can be. I liked all three versions (although that blathering before the Kodeine song got annoying quickly). I expected to like Wilco’s the best, given their talent, but I found Groove Ltd’s version most appealing, probably because of the faster, upbeat tempo. The singer does sound a lot like Lowe himself, in this version.
All three were solid covers and quite faithful to the original. I think Wilco will get a lot of votes simply because, well, their Wilco. I voted for Kodeine in a competition that really could have gone to any one of the bands. Well done!
Some of you guys may have known this song for many years; I’ve been familiar with it for less than a month.
Everyone expects me to vote for the Cardinals fan from Belleville, so I will.
