Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. It is your solemn responsibility to decide which cover song prevails. In other words … Which Side Are You On?!!?

Tough call between Dino Jr. and Seven Nations. I give it to Dinosaur Jr. They really guitar it up, and I really like the distortion.
I don’t know the original song; I never owned anything by The Cure.
I voted for Seven Nations. Haven’t thought about them in years. They used to play the Celtic festival circuit in the nineties, although they didn’t really Celtify that song.
I love Seven Nations’ version but I love Goldfinger’s more and Dinosaur Jr’s the most.
Enjoyed all three. Seven Nations otherwise earnest but less than special version was elevated by the fine fiddle playing which gave it emotional depth and melodic flourish. Goldfinger was fun. Threw in down under two minutes including the “anything else”? Dinosaur Jr played it with both irreverence and loving appreciation. The counterpunch squall making the melody return even sweeter. Has there ever been a lazier singer than J Mascis? He makes Stephen Malkmus sound feisty. Great guitar and l like the sharp ending. They nailed it.
