Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. It is your solemn responsibility to decide which cover song prevails. In other words … Which Side Are You On?!!?

  1. Cuspid says:

There was a time when I was really into ska-punk. I still like it lot. But when I was listening to it the most Goldfinger was one of my favorites. And I always thought this cover was one of their best. Props to Andrew Huang for originality and enjoyment.

  2. Arnold Plotnick says:

Hayden Tee’s version was torture. I really debated the other two. Andrew Huang’s version was hilarious, and really very good, but Goldfinger does a kick-ass version here. Great guitars.

  3. Kerry Black says:

I voted for Andrew Huang because he entertained me the most. And ultimately, that’s why I’m here.

  4. RDubbs says:

I’ve always had a soft spot for this song. I loved it the first time I heard it. And that was the German version (i.e. 99 Luftballoons), of which I did not understand a word. Not surprisingly Goldfinger’s version has long been a favorite of mine. They remain faithful to the original while knocking it out with added verve. In past balloon challenges I’ve voted for Goldfinger. But Hayden Tee’s version is too original and atmospheric to ignore. I absolutely loved it. So Hayden Tee got my vote. But Andrew Huang elicited many chuckles.
